Make It Monday-Jewellery Box Craft

Make it Monday- Jewellery Box for your dolls

One of my favorite crafts is an altered match box. Today I wanted to show you how you can make your own Doll Sized Jewelry box to store your dolls best jewels!

To make today’s craft you will need

-1 empty match box or create your own from this tutorial http://blog.swap-bot.com/rachels-matchbox-template/

 -Tape or glue stick

-ruler

-pencil

-scissors

-scrapbook paper

-1 brad

-4 faux pearls (pony beads work just as well)

-glue gun

-nail or push pin

-* optional ribbon and scrap book slider

Step 1- Measure the outside of your match box on your paper. Use a ruler and pencil to mark your paper. Cut out and wrap the outside of the box. Tape it into place or use a glue stick

Step 2- remove the inside box or drawer from your box. Cover the end edge of one end of your drawer with scrapbook paper. Tape or glue into place.

Step 3- Use a nail or push pin to poke a hole through the center middle of the drawer front for the drawers handle. Remove the pin/nail and replace with a brad. On the inside of your drawer fold the arms back as shown. Replace the drawer in the box.

Step 4- Attach four beads or faux pearls to the bottom of the box using hot glue. Let dry.

Step 5- Optional decorate your box further, I used a piece of ribbon and a scrap book slider,( you could used stickers or more beads if you liked).  Add a dab of hot glue in the center and place your ribbon belt over press down. Turn box over and glue belt ends to the bottom of the box.

Once dry and secure, fill your dolls new Jewellery box with her favorite jewels.

Our Newest Model

Today was a lucky day. I have been looking for a new model and today I found her. It was Marisol on our local Classified and I got her for $35.00. Yeah ! ... she is so cute and I am excited to get some of our cute clothes on her.

She was in excellent condition and came with a bag full of AG Goodies and her original outfit.  So fun.....

Now in this picture you can see her lounging in one of our new plushie bean bags. And my daughter changed her into one of her doll outfits from AG. We are so happy to have her as a part of the Daydream family. Happy Day !

P.S. My daughter set up her Welcome Home party with her AG Party Kit which I will blog about more later :)

New Styles at Daydream

We have got in some really cute new styles and here are some of my dolls modeling them.

Just For Fun

In my travels yesterday I came across this cute clip in hair color and knew that it would look great in my dolls hair.

This is one of my models I use for my doll boutique. Her name is Lauren and with her dark hair and side swept bangs i think the edgy look really suits her.

 Let me know what you think of her new fashion accessory....

Product Review: Pottery Barn Kids 18" Doll Backpack

So I am always looking for cute items for my daughters doll so I could not resist this adorable backpack from Pottery Barn Kids. As you can see my two year old was very happy to help in my photo shoot. When I purchased this bag it was on sale for $9.99 and included free shipping. Sweet deal.....

  Things I like about it:

• Matches thier kid size bags
• Very roomy 
• Includes the cute matching lunch bag
• It is very well made

Pottery Barn has just cleared out their Grey version of it so I am excited to see what new color they will bring in. If you want one now you can find them on Ebay.  So this is overall a great product.

American Girl Crafts-Card Making Kit-Review

If there is one thing my ten year old daughter loves that is crafts. So when I saw this cute card making pad I snatched it up.

 At my local craft store sold it for $14.99 but they always offer a 50% off coupon for one item so it ended up costing me $7.50 before tax.

A great price for this fully loaded craft kit. It has tons of card options, and stickers and even doll sized cards. It would also be perfect for an AG birthday party.

We enjoyed very much putting the cards together, even I loved it. So this product get a thumbs up  :)

A Day at American Girl Doll Store in Los Angeles

If you are ever in the area that has an American Girl Doll Store I highly recommend giving it a visit.

On my trip to Los Angeles I decided to take my daughter to the store there.

It was amazing and so fun. We ate at the cafe, got her dolls hair done and did some fun shopping.

Product Review-Burgers and Fries

In my roaming adventures I came across these cute fast food sets at my local dollar store and they were perfectly sized for my dolls.

Each set includes:
1 soda with removable lid and straw
1 french fries with red holder
1 burger with meat, cheese, tomato and bun

Now they can enjoy eating out too. The soda cups even come with small straws that are removable. Too cute ! So for all you locals I found these at Honk's dollar store. Enjoy :)

March Product Review-Matching Pajamas

For this month I found a nightgown set that was so cute ! It was from Kohl's and with my discount and coupon I was able to get it for under $10 dollars. What a steal ! They had a few prints to choose from but I knew my daughter would love pink. Her and her doll Ashley look so cute. It fit nicely and washed very well, so far no shrinkage. So this one is a keeper.

February Product Review- Let's Go Camping

One thing I am always on the hunt for our great play sets to go with my daughters dolls. So I happened upon this tent from Target from the Our Generation brand and thought it was to cute to pass up. It comes with a tent , a sleeping bag and a few play goodies.  And before Christmas it cost me $17.99

We can fit three dolls in it side by side. Plenty of room. The only thing I did not love was the poles. They were simply to long. You really think you are going to break them . Come to find out they were just made to long. get out those garden pruners and cut an inch off and it will fit much nicer. Just make sure they are super sharp so you don't crack the plastic.

So overall we love the tent ( yes, I've played with it too )  It's been lots of fun !!

Friends Boutique from Wal-mart

One thing I am always looking for are reasonable play sets for my daughters American girls. And I found just the thing. These great play sets are from Wal-mart from their Friends Boutique line. They are $10 a set. And they have a few different ones to choose from.
