Make It Monday! Make Your Doll Her Own Garden Plants

It is Spring and this Make I Monday Post features easy to make doll sized planters you can make for your own doll. You can fill them with flowers or leave them as fun pots!

To Make your own you will need:
-2 toilet paper tubes
-Small dollar store flowers
-colorful paper (I used wrapping paper)
-A Glue Stick
-Scissors
-Brown Fun Foam
-Doll Sized Popsicle Sticks
-Pencil Crayons
* watering can and "potting bench" from Michael's the craft store.
Step 1- Gather all your supplies and cut your toilet tubes in half as shown in the photo above.
Step 2- Use a glue stick and run a line of glue over the wide edge of your toilet tissue roll, leaving one edge of the paper long so you can tuck it up the bottom of your pot.  Wrap your paper around the tube. Cut and glue the end into place and fold over the edges. Do this for all your pots.
Step 3- Place the covered tube on top of your brown fun foam use a pencil crayon and trace the shape of your pot. Cut the fun foam out. Repeat for all your doll pots.
Step 4- Use your scissors and make a snip in the circle of your fun foam as shown in the photo above this is where you will slide your plant marker into place.

Step 5- Cut a small bunch of flowers from your dollar store flowers and cut a hole to slide them in through the fun foam as well.
Step 6- Make Plant Markers and use your pencil crayons to personalize your pot markers. Repeat on all your doll pots.

I hope you enjoyed today's Make It Monday Post and I look forward to sharing more doll play ideas with you again soon.

Make It Monday! Let's Make Shamrock Shortbread For Your Dolls!

Today for Make It Monday I have made my dolls some Shamrock Short Bread for their St. Patrick's Day Tea Party! To make your own you will need:
-Oven Bake Polymer clay. I used Sculpey Clay In White and Green (You can choose any color)
-Crinkle Cutter Rectangle from the Premo! Set found by clicking here
-Premo Mini Metal Cutters Holiday Shamrock Find it by clicking here
-Sculpey Tool set like the one shown here or a tooth pick
-Sculpey Work and Bake Mat or wax paper on an oven safe baking tray
-Oven Preheated to your clays directions, oven safe gloves

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies and cover your work space. Pre heat your oven to the recommended setting on your clay.
Step 2- Open and work your lightest color of clay first. I rolled and patted mine by hand. Press it out and cut out your 4 "shortbread" cookies. Don't worry if you have a tiny bit left you can use that to make one round shortbread to enjoy or share with a dolly friend like I did.
Step 3- Once your four cookies are cut out. Work a small amount of green clay into a flat circle like mine. Use your small shamrock cutter to cut 4 (or 5 if you are doing a round cookie) and lay them in the middle of your shortbread. Press them gently into place.
Step 4- Use the pointed end of your tool to make the holes in your short bread.
Step 5- If you are using the work and bake mat you can place it and the tray in the oven to bake. If you are using paper you will have to transfer your cookies into place on a oven safe tray and then bake them.
Step 6- Bake them according to the directions on your clay, remove them from allow them to cool then they are ready to give to your dolls!

Make It Monday! Make A Fun Fringe Purse For Your Dolls!

Karen here and today I have a craft I hope you will love that is inspired by our Paint The Sky Outfit for 18 inch dolls. My doll Chrissa is modeling this fun outfit that looks great on all 18 inch dolls.
When my outfit arrived I was so excited and knew I wanted to make a matching purse to go with this outfit so for today's Make It Monday Post, I am sharing just how I made my doll a matching purse.

To make your own Fun Fringe Purse you will need:
Felt in Black, Light Blue, Pink, Purple and Yellow
A Needle and Thread
A Button
Scissors
Red Heart Yarn in a Coordinating Color
A Glue Gun

Step 1- Cut a piece of Black felt 9 inches by 3 inches wide.
Step 2- Cut a strip of 1 1/2 inch felt in each of your remaining colors and snip the bottom edges 3/4 of an inch all the way along
Step 3- Plug in your glue gun.
Step 4- fold your Black Felt  3 1/2 inches up and smooth along the bottom with your finger. Place a button in the center of the felt approximately 1 inch down from the edge. Thread your needle and  sew into place on only the one piece of felt.
Step 5- Run a line of glue along the bottom edge of your purse and press in the first frayed felt piece. Repeat on the remaining felt fringe pieces.
Step 6- Open your Black piece of felt and flip it button side down against your work surface. Place a dab of glue on the felt and fold the fringe edges over. You can trim them once your glue has set.
Step 7- Turn your felt back over and fold into the purse shape. Fold the flap down over the button as shown and use your scissors to create a button hole.  Put the button through the hole.
Step 8- To make the handle cut 12, 14 inch strands of yarn from your ball. Tie a knot on each end as shown in the photos above.
Step 9- With the knot ends peaking out of your doll purse glue the yarn into place on both sides. Allow to dry and your purse is ready for play!
