Make It Monday! Let's Make Foam Teacups & Saucers

Karen here and recently I saw a lovely photo on Facebook of a garland of teacups made from Styrofoam balls as decoration for a tea baby shower. I thought it would be fun to try to make them but as usable doll play teacups! So using fun foam I had on hand and two Styrofoam balls I made a set of 4. These would make lovely party crafts and take home gifts.

To make your own you will need:
-Fun Foam
-2 small Styrofoam balls
-A knife and a grown up to cut the balls in half
-8 short straight pins for sewing
-Scissors
-Pencil
-Small lid to trace a saucer circle on

Step 1- have a grown up cut your foam ball in half along the center seam on your Stryofoam ball. This works best with a knife with teeth like a saw! Have them cut both balls in half.
Step 2- Cut a 1/4 inch strip from the fun foam by 8 inches. Then cut that piece into 4 equal parts.
Use two push pins to secure the teacup handle on the side of your foam ball, repeat on each ball.
Step 3- Trace a circle twice the size of the foam cup. I used a small lid of a jam jar. Cut out 4 to be the saucers of your tea cups.

Now your tea cups are ready for play!
I hope you have fun making teacups for your dolls!
I look forward to sharing more doll play crafts with you again soon!
