Inspired By Pinterest- American Girl 18" Doll Tights from a Ladies Sock Tutorial

So I've seen this idea around for awhile on Pinterest and have been very curious to try it. I do like the flexibility it gives you if you want something unique, as there are 100s of printed socks out there, and it could be quite fun picking out a print.

Also if you are in a crunch and need tights for a gift and don't have time to order online, you can quickly make your own. This is a super fast easy sew. and is a great option to have. Happy Sewing !

Supplies Needed:

One Knee High Woman's Sock (stretchy is good)
Matching Thread
Scissors
Pins
Sewing Machine

STEP ONE:
Place sock on dolls body.
Pin at crotch.
Pin at feet.

STEP TWO:
Remove from doll.
Cut below pin at feet section.

STEP THREE:
Cut up the side of sock to pin, as shown below.
Repeat on other side.

STEP FOUR:
Open to create legs.
Turn to wrong side.

STEP FIVE:
Pin all around and stitch.
Turn right side out.

Voila ! Done.

Here is Kit showing off her new tights :)

Make It Monday~ Knit A Cozy Rug For Your Dolls Room

Have you ever gone to the wool or yarn section of any craft or dollar store just to feel the wonderful textures? It is such an addicting thing when you knit or crochet! I just found this "Baby Braid Fringe Yarn" in a soft Lilac color at my dollar store Dollar Giant and I knew once I touched it I had to make a rug for my dolls room! There were several colors available at the store, pink, blue and yellow but the Lilac stole my heart the second my fingers touched it!

To create your own  Cozy Rug for your doll you will need:

-1 ball of Baby-braid fringe yarn the one I used was from Needle Crafters tm
-A Pair of Knitting needles sized 8.0 mm or US 11
-Scissors
-A Ruler
* optional a foam sticker or button to embellish your rug

Step 1- Cast  on 14 stitches
Step 2- Knit every stitch row after row until your "rug" measures 5inches wide by 7 inches long with your ruler

Step 3- Cast off, tie off
Step 4- Embleish
Step 5- Take your dolls shoes off and let her step on this very cozy rug you just made!

Today I used my Extra Special doll Hannah and her dog Chocolate Chip. To find out more about Hannah and Extra Special Dolls you can click here.

Make It Monday~ Make A Valentine's Day Themed Lamp For Your Dolls!

Karen here and today I am sharing a fun craft you can make for Valentines Day or for Every day for your dolls. This dollar store craft is one I think you will enjoy!
To create today's Make It Monday Craft You Will Need:
-A lamp shaped Air Freshener from the dollar store I got mine at Dollar Tree for $1.25
-Glue Dot or Glue Gun
-Candy, Shells or Beads to fill the Lamp Base
-Gem Stickers or Plastic Gems To decorate the Lamp Shade
- An adult to help you empty the lamp air freshener liquid
-Warm Soapy Water
Step 1-Assemble all your supplies. Ask an adult to help you unscrew the lamp shade from the lamp base and remove the air freshener stick and dump the contents of the lamp, and have them dispose of it properly.
Step 2- Wash out your lamp base, use warm soapy water. The liquid inside the lamp base is a bit oily so washing it out will ensure that the color doesn't run on anything you put in the plastic lamp base.
Step 3- Once the lamp base is dry, choose what you would like to be in your lamp base. The best part is you can change it with each season and to fit the decor of your doll house. * If you are using candies it is not recommended that you eat the candy once your display is finished.
Step 4- Fill the lamp with small shells, beads or candy and twist the lamp shade back in place.

Step 5- To decorate the lamp shade you will need a glue gun or glue dots to attach gem stickers or plastic gem stones, you may wish to add bows or stickers it is up to you!
